Those hairy ones!

The Beatles in the 60's were a theme present in the lives of many Portuguese families including my parents but the 1st memory I have of the Beatles dates back only to the end of the decade, around my 10 / 12 years, and it's the one my father to tell my mother that "I would never allow my children to walk around like those hairy ones"... Well!!

And so?

The reality is that the music of these hairy men was so captivating that it quickly spread around the world as if it were a virus and, amazingly, people hair, like the Beatles hair, with age was growing until, imagine, it became fashion... Well!! smiley icon10

Extravagante

"THIS IS NOT AMERICA"...

When you are 18

I just started to take seriously the Rolling Stones at my 16 years old through the single "Angie" which in the summer of 74 often passed on the requested songs in the esplanade of avenue 8 in Espinho... For those who did not live the ambient of that esplanade, that left good memories in all people who passed through it, here's a link to give a slight idea of what was that space for walk and leisure on summer days and nights until the end of the 70's...

The Stones, or something like that, would never captivate me nowadays, I say, but I remember the thing very well when you are 18, and with that age everything is different... There was a kind of spell, not to like was impossible, the image they passed was assembled by a $ machine, ok but that music made to reach a layer of youth after getting into your brain it's for life... The first time you listen live chords like in "Gimme Shelter", "Honky Tonk Women" ou "Jumpin' Jack Flash" you're caught... It's such a strong emotion that it's simply unforgettable... smiley
